The most important debt

With pilgrims preparing themselves for the journey of a lifetime, it is important to clear any outstanding debts before setting off on Hajj. Unpaid Zakat is both a debt to Allah and a debt to the poor who have a right to it. If you have unpaid Zakat or are unsure if you calculated it correctly in the past, download a free copy of our Zakat guide here. Alternatively you can utilise the Zakat query email or callback service if you need one-to-one assistance to calculate your Zakat.

We are hiring!

NZF is looking for a talented Administrative Assistant. This varied role will cover office management, human resources, finance, legal and IT. Little champion

When 11 year old Saif heard about the plight of those desperately in need within his community, he felt compelled to do something to help. Saif decided to get on his bike and set himself the challenge of cycling five laps of his local park to raise money to support the work of NZF. By setting up a fundraising page, he was able to double his original target with sponsorship from family and friends!

If you are feeling inspired, why not set up your own fundraising page for NZF today.

Your Zakat at work

In the last month NZF received 107 applications and distributed £83,319. With the new academic year approaching there has been a significant number of applications from university students. Muslim students are increasingly opting to take gap years or work part-time alongside studies in order to avoid taking out student loans. Applicants are turning to NZF for financial support to cover their most basic needs. If you would like to learn more about the variety of cases supported by NZF, volunteer with the distribution team in London to help those in need on our doorstep. Apply today.

Picking up the pieces

Following the closure of Kids Company, a single mother of two contacted NZF after her weekly allowance from the charity came to a grinding halt. She had nowhere else to turn. A summary of her communications with an NZF caseworker over the course of 24 hours serves to demonstrate some of the real needs from real people who have been affected by the closure of Kids Company. Read her story here to see what NZF did to help.
