Ramadan Campaign 2017
With the countdown to Ramadan well and truly underway, NZF has this simple message for you to consider.
1) Help the many in need of your Zakat locally.
2) Calculate and pay your Zakat accurately.
3) Trust NZF to distribute the Zakat diligently.
In the UK, Muslims are twice as likely to be found in poverty than any other faith group. This is why NZF distributes 100% of your Zakat locally whilst following the prophetic teaching:
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent his companion Mu’adh as an ambassador to Yemen one of his clear instructions was, “Allah has made it obligatory for them to pay the Zakat from their property and it is to be taken from the wealthy among them and given to the poor among them.” [Bukhari]
Paying Zakat correctly is an obligation and has been associated with many benefits in the Qur’an. For example:
“My Mercy extends to all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who have God-consciousness and give their Zakat and those who believe in Our Signs.” (Qur'an, 7:156).
Therefore, ensuring you calculate and pay your Zakat correctly is imperative and should not be based on guesswork. NZF has a range of resources to provide the Muslim community with an effective and accurate means of calculating Zakat.
NZF has distributed over £5.5 million of Zakat funds in the UK to families and individuals in desperate need. In April alone, NZF distributed £199,129 to 298 recipients, with £2.5m expected to be distributed over the next 12 months.
NZF has a skilled team of caseworkers who assess each case with due diligence, ensuring that eligible recipients receive Zakat and the support they need to cater for their long-term needs.
